To summarize my career, pretty much an evolutionary accident. Perhaps I am the HR equivalent of the platypus. If you asked me, too many years ago, “what do you want to be when you grow up?” HR wouldn’t have been the answer. Now that I have, it is.
Education:
Three college degrees. Two associate degrees, one in communication-electronics maintenance and the other in adult education. One bachelor of science degree in Management of Human Resources. Numerous leadership development and technical courses completed. Other college majors include marine biology, electrical engineering, business management, and computer science.
Certification:
Six years as PHR
Current – SPHR
HR relevant experience:
Three years as a senior operations manager for a global aerospace security and delivery organization. Three more years in training and organizational development. Five years in nonprofit human service agency. Five years in a for profit, privately held, manufacaturing firm.
