Wish You Were Here: September 11, 2011
Today was like that day. I was on my way to an HR Chapter Meeting, just like today. The sky was September blue.
In 2001, I was here, in the twin towers of South Portland, attending an HRASM Chapter Meeting. I remember feeling suddenly upset, unsettled and uncharacteristically walked out of the meeting. Only to learn that the world was changing, had changed.
I took this picture this morning. The sun had risen into another bright blue September sky. At today’s HRASM meeting, a good friend-the Chapter President remembered this day with those in attendance. It is good to remember to remain stronger and resolute.
America united that day. Today we are divided by political partisanship. It is time to reject party politics and regain the spirit and sense that we stand together – of, for and by The People – for our collective brighter future.
