It’s a start, I guess. From the article, “In Maine, HR professionals are just starting to warm up to this new technology.” Later on, in the article, (David) Pease attributes the hesitancy to their (ME HR folks) unfamiliarity.
Web 2.0 and social media aren’t new–they’ve been around for several years, and while LinkedIn seems to be getting utilized by some members of the state’s HR community, and a few other business leaders, our state seems to be lagging way behind other places.

I wonder if some of the cause for our reluctance is the Yankee tendency towards discretion and privacy? It takes some degree and level of courage and fortitude to put one self’s out there into the modern world.
